pickles, smoke bombs, and sprinkles

Happy 4th of July! Wow, what a weekend. We spent most of the weekend camping and rafting with great friends. It was fun fun fun. The kids are turning into little river-rats. We floated the Colorado river twice this weekend, we played on sand islands, saw an amazing bald eagle in her nest and again when she flew over us, made new friends, and enjoyed every minute of it. What we did not enjoy were the mosiquitos.... my poor little girl got my curse of the mosquitos, sugar blood and an allegic reaction. Not only do we get the itchy bite, but we swell with it also. Check out her poor eye after one got her twice. A friend suggested shots of vinegar every morning (his mothers recipe) to keep those pesky things away. I dont think little M will go for that.... but she does love pickles! We may be eating jars of them before we head out to ND at the end of the week.

D and M were at the fireworks stand the day it opened. D is just as bad as the kids. He came home from work to inform M that the stand was up and away they went to stock up on smoke bombs. Jack quickly joined in on the fun. He has been walking around the house for two weeks saying "moke bombs, daddy, moke bombs". So here are my little smoke bomb addicts... jumping the smoke :)

and we couldn't let the weekend pass up by without some cupcakes with star sprinkles...

We hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July!!!
